Selected in vineyards of Treixadura grapes with a high maturation potential. Maceration of whole grapes is done cold, and the fermentation under controlled temperature into 500 l French fine grain oak barrels. It´s aged over lees in barrels for 6 months with periodically battonage, and then stays in its bottle for more than 10 months.

Tasting notes:

Frank and expressive with a good aftertaste, this wine is very open in the nose, with a well-defined bouquet of ripe fruit, quality oak, and milk. Creamy and fresh, soft, balanced, tasty and broad.

Low maturation Galician cheeses which are fatty and of a very particular acidity (Cebreiro, Arzúa-Ulloa, San Simón...). Grilled seafood, grilled octopus, game dishes, oven cooked cod, carpaccios, fresh foie.


Temperatures: 9-10 ºC. Open at least half an hour before serving or decanting.

Grapes origin: Selection from the oldest vineyards.

Region: Valle del Avia – D.O. Ribeiro.

The Winery:

Bodegas Casal de Armán was founded at the end of the 90s, but it belongs to the fourth generation of a family who has been making Ribeiro wines since the 19th century. The pillars that support the Casal de Armán project are excitement, hard work, and a great passion for wine.

The right premises to develop the project were needed, so the restoration of the old 18th century court started when the González Vázquez family purchased the property. It took them eight years of hard work to completely refurbish it. Nowadays it houses a cosy countryside hotel, a traditional Galician restaurant, and the winery.

The winery is attached to the old house. Built after the Galician architecture tradition, this winery's premise is to combine the simplicity of stone and noble wood with the most modern technology and machinery for the preparation of wine: stainless steel tanks, pneumatic presses, stem removing machines, temperature control devices, etc.
