The main appeal of this salt is how natural it is, a result of its traditional production via the evaporation of sea water. Unlike table salt, sea salt has no additives, although it does contain important minerals that our body needs. It is also rich in trace elements (important for the immune system) such as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, iodine, et cetera.

Ingredients: sea salt crystals and Spanish paprika.

Culinary uses:

Because of its high concentration of minerals, the flavor is more intense than normal salt, meaning that it is used in smaller amounts. The flakes are in fact fragile crystals which can be ground easily with your fingers. Seasoned with smoked paprika, a surprising and very appetizing taste makes the salt well-suited to season dishes right at the end, especially in the case of meat.

It is the perfect condiment for fish, meat, and mashed potatoes. We particularly recommend trying some with octopus.


The history of La Chinata begins in 1932, in the region of Sierra de Gata in the province of Caceres. At that time, oil was obtained in very basic olive mills. Nowadays, however, they have the most modern grinding and pressing systems, which are still purely mechanical but  extract a much bigger quantity with a clean and controlled method to ensure the quality of extra virgin olive oil.
