Pedrosillo garbanzos are slightly wrinkled and have an intense orange-cream color. The absorption capacity of this legume is 100% of its weight; when cooked, the garbanzo perfectly maintains its shape. Its name comes from its place of origin, Pedrosillo, in the province of Salamanca.

For La Salmantina, it all started in 1933 in La Vellés, a small town of Salamanca and the capital of the region of the Armuña. Originally, they were a small vegetable wholesale warehouse selling only bulk lentils and chickpeas: La Armunya lentils, pedrosillano chickpeas and Fuentesaúco chickpeas.

Today, these three varieties are protected by Denominación de Origen, an official certification of the product's quality and authenticity. The regulatory boards of La Armunya lentils, Pedrosillo chickpeas, and Fuentesaúco garbanzos guarantee the quality and origin of the legumes of this brand which has become so popular.

Over the years La Salmantina has added new products such as Lentil Pardina from Tierra de Campos, Beluga Lentils, Beans of Tolosa, Asturian Fabes and countless other delights of this wonderful land for growing vegetables.
