Angula is the Spanish term for young eel and the only young fish permitted to be caught by law. When found in fish markets, it usually has a weight of 1 gram, measures less than 8 centimeters in length and is between 2-3 years old. Young eel for sale is usually already cooked; it is transparent if alive. The ones we offer you have gone through a rigorous selection process so that only the best will be sold to you.

Ingredients: Eels, olive oil and salt.

In Spain, elvers (young eels) are traditional in the cuisine of the Basque Country. The most famous dish is angulas a la bilbaína, which is served in a clay pot with garlic and smoked peppers.

We recommend eating them sauteed with a little chilli.

Nutritional value:

The eels are high in vitamin E, a nutrient that benefits our circulatory system. This delicacy also contains antioxidant properties, is beneficial for the eyes and helps prevent Parkinson's disease.


Conservas Cambados is located in the Ria de Arousa, famed for the size and abundance of its sealife. This lake favors the cultivation of bivalves such as clam and cockles or shellfish such as mussels which are grown in floating nurseries called "rafts". The careful selection of the best raw materials from the Galician Rias and the traditional process of preparation makes this artisan product very notable in its quality.
