The wine continues on lees for months, making for a complex final product which is full of hues, large, and very persistent.

After closely monitoring and selecting a vineyard, fruit is preselected for this special wine. When the grapes have reached the optimal ripeness, they are harvested manually. The grape is controlled once again on a sorting table before the destemming. The skins are macerated with the must in the press for a greater extraction of primary aromas. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 15 and 16 º C. Once this process is finished, the wine is racked by selecting the finest lees for further preparation..

Wine tasting: Yellow-green in colour and bright with intense hints of white fruit, touches of grass, boxwood, and fine lees; complex, meaty, enveloping, and balanced, with a delicate harmony, persistent, good acidity and delicious bitterness that prolongs its elegance.

Complements: Fish and shellfish, white meat, and rice dishes.

Varieties: 50%Teixadura, 50% Godello

Apellation: Monterrei


Self-owned, as well as a selection from old vineyards in the Monterrei valley. Coming from clay and slate soils, the fruit is manually harvested and then hand-selected in the wine cellars.


After the fermentation, isolation, and selection of fine lees, the wine is returned to the main stock with regular battonage for four months.

Terra do Gargalo does not compete in wine contests.
