The symbol of shell seafood on the Galician coast is clearly the mussel. Delicious on its own, the one we offer you incorporates the famous Salsa Brava and Sugar Kombu Seaweed. Porto Muiños amazes us with a new recipe, mussels with an all natural soft Brava sauce along with the extravagance of sugar kombu. Prepared using traditional methods, this product is a delicious blend of the best mussels from the Rías Gallegas collected in rafts between July and January.

Ingredients: Mussels, tomato, olive oil, onion, kombu seaweed, pepper, paprika, sunflower oil, vinegar, white pepper, garlic, salt and sugar.

Does not contain preservatives or colorings.

Packaging: Can in cardboard

Weight: Net Weight 125 gr, drained 85 gr

Culinary uses:

Fine Tapa of rock mussel from the Galician rías, ready to eat at room temperature or hot as a garnish for fish, whether grilled, marinated, or sashimi.

The flavor of the shellfish and seaweed with brava sauce dovetails with red vermouths as well as aromatic wines. It also goes very well with young red wines, sherries such as amontillados or olorosos, white, sparkling wines and toasted beers.

Nutritional value:

Rich in  proteins and minerals like iron, zinc, potassium and phosphorus, this nutritious luxury is an authentic and succulent marine product.

The mussel has a delicious meat. It is nutritious and, contrary to popular belief, very easy to digest. It contains very few carbohydrates and hardly any fat. Mussels are very rich in vitamins A, B, D, E and B3 which are essential to a balanced diet. A dozen mussels have no more than 70-90 calories.

The Kombu seaweed has a high protein content and is rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, iron and vitamins.

Porto Muiños bases its success on the analysis and research of the organoleptic qualities of seaweed. It also studies many other delicacies from the Galician Sea, searching out new flavors and textures: dried seaweed, seaweed tartar, seaweed noodles, seaweed herbal teas. Enjoy this garden of the sea in the most diverse formats.

Where does seaweed grow and how is it harvested?

The seaweed from PORTO-MUÍÑOS grows on rocks covered by the cold, clean water of the Atlantic Ocean. The harvesting is done by divers, who select and cut the best specimens in the most appropriate season for each species. The seaweed is then processed immediately.
