Information:

The Pardina lentil is small, less than 5 mm in diameter and its characteristic brown color is associated with the name of Pardina. It does not fall apart or lose its thin skin when it is cooked. This typical product of Castilla y Leon is made using traditional methods. Its flavor is delicious and its fine texture tantalizes the taste buds.

Origin: Valladolid

Packaging: Sack of Fabric

Net Weight: 1 kilo

Culinary uses:

In winter it is best prepared in stews and accompanied by chorizo and "morcilla" blood sausage.

In summer it is perfect in salads. We also recommend its use in creams or as a garnish. If you have little time in the kitchen, small varieties of lentils are ideal as they are quickly cooked. We recommend immersing in cold water for about 12 hours so they are not hard.

Brand:

For La Salmantina, it all started in 1933 in La Vellés, a small town of Salamanca and the capital of the region of the Armuña. Originally, they were a small vegetable wholesale warehouse selling only bulk lentils and chickpeas: La Armunya lentils, pedrosillano chickpeas and Fuentesaúco chickpeas.

Today, these three varieties are protected by Denominación de Origen, an official certification of the product's quality and authenticity. The regulatory boards of La Armunya lentils, Pedrosillo chickpeas, and Fuentesaúco garbanzos guarantee the quality and origin of the legumes of this brand which has become so popular.

Over the years La Salmantina has added new products such as Lentil Pardina from Tierra de Campos, Beluga Lentils, Beans of Tolosa, Asturian Fabes and countless other delights of this wonderful land for growing vegetables.
